I have the honour to point out that my

three years agreement as Assistant Engineer in this Department terminates on the 22nd. of May next, and I shall be glad to

know if it is the intention of the Government to offer to

retain my services, and if so, in what capacity, and on what terms, as the information I enquire for is of importance in

view of my future arrangements.

I shall be glad if it will suit the con-

venience of the Government to favour me with an early reply.
